My favorite part was when a person named Michael Flint was pitching a perfect game and when, at the last of the 7th part, it says that the ball left his hand and was spinning right to the strike zone.
Other things I liked about this book are that it has a whole history of nine people in the same family over all the years from 1845 to 2002.
My favorite character was Snider Flint because he tried to learn all about a special bat that was made in the Civil War.
I give this book :) :) :) :) :) (five out of five happy faces!). I recommend this book for people who love baseball.
This sounds like a great book that focuses on family history, world history and baseball history. The idea of a baseball bat having a history that connects back to the Civil War is fascinating.
ReplyDeleteMax,
ReplyDeleteWhat was it that was special about the bat made in the Civil War? Was it different than other bats made then?
Cheri Thurston
Cheri: The bat was different because it came from the South when the character Louis Schnieder, who lived in the North, was given it from a person who turned blind in the Civil War and could not play baseball anymore. Yes, the bat was different from the other bats because the bats from the North were more improved and better to play ball.
ReplyDeleteThanks for asking.
